Let Us Introduce Ourselves:
Welcome everyone, we are pleased to issue the 1st newsletter and journal for Land O Lakes Recreation Co! All issues will be stored on our website for viewing at a later time.
For those of you not familiar, let us introduce ourselves. We are a new organization, created out of a love and respect for the northwoods, and the passion for outdoor power sports enjoyment. With the wonderful beauty of the northwoods’ trails, lakes and forests, (and lake effect snow belt) our style of recreation gives us great opportunities to reach out into those remote areas of Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to enjoy the outdoors year round.
Land O’ Lakes Recreation (LOLR) is committed to top quality products, customer service and accessories for the outdoors. The business dealership was formerly Ramesh Motorsports, and although Ron Ramesh and his family are still quite involved with the ongoing operations, Ron does not have to spend hours behind the counter. When the dealership changed hands, Ron was asked what he intended to do with some free time, and his response was that he was looking forward to getting out there and doing some riding during the fall and winter! Imagine that!
The new team for the Land O’ Lakes Recreation Co is managed by George and Andrea Haviar. George is focused on sales marketing and parts, while Andrea runs the business office, along with clothing and parts assistance in the store. Supporting members include Tom Taubensee, assisting in sales and parts, while also responsible for technology and online communication for LOLR at the dealership. Although not at the dealership, in his spare time John Taubensee is busy designing and setting up the website. His main goal is to give the site a personal feel (make sure to leave comments on this post to let him know how he is doing!!). Lots has been done, but John envisions much more to do!
Pete Otterpohl is our lead mechanic, with almost 30 years of valuable experience at the dealership. Josh Horst is our setup mechanic, busy setting up new units and assisting with other service oriented needs. Both Pete and Josh have a great work ethic and skill, focused on the customer and their vehicles. Tina Beer (Ron’s daughter) coordinates clothing and helmets in the store assisting customers with sizing, along with sales counter and phone assistance. Mike Lapp is our newest addition, learning the ropes at the dealership making deliveries and tracking down issues, and also supporting Pete and Josh prepping new or serviced units.
Chad Ramesh, Champion award winning Snow racer, is also connected with us, available to tune sleds with suspension, clutching and other needs. Chad also offers back country tours in remote areas in the UP, as well as locally. And of course Ron visits regularly, often times having the opportunity to chat with returning long time customers.
WebCam Announcement:
While we said this in a past blog post, we are still thrilled to announce that the new webcam for the store is up and running! Visit our website to see current conditions, day and night. While the current camera is aimed at the store, the trail cam should be up in the next several days. It will view the trail that runs past our store at the state line. They will be of great benefit to the snowmobiling and local Land O’ Lakes community. These web camera links will also be available at www.johndee.com . If you have not visited the John Dee website, but you are an avid snowmobiler or connected with the market, you are in for a great and informative surprise!

Love the new website guys. I’ve rented from Ramesh a couple of times for my buddies annual snowmobile trip and we’ll be up the 3rd week of February. The webcam is awesome and I’m glad to see you guys are getting some snow!!!!

I had the opportunity to visit the store over President’s Day weekend. I was impressed by the friendly and knowledgable staff. There was a nice selection of clothing at reasonable prices. I also appreciate the webcam. Keep up the good work!
